(CHICAGO, IL – November 1, 2017) Women Investment Professionals (WIP), a leading not-for-profit organization for professional women in the institutional investment management industry, welcomed a record turnout of approximately 250 women and men to its annual Trailblazer Dinner on October 26 at the University Club of Chicago.

 

Opening remarks were provided by Christina Cryer, WIP President and Head of U.S. Consultant Relations for WisdomTree Asset Management. Ms. Cryer stressed the importance of women standing together, helping other women and encouraging inclusivity.

 

Sabrina Bailey, Global Head of Retirement Solutions for Northern Trust Asset Management and recipient of the 2017 “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional Award” reflected on the importance of the statement “I am human,” as well as the five pillars that have guided her throughout her career: curiosity, perseverance, humility, service and attitude.

 

Kathleen Gallagher, who serves on the board of Legal & General Investment Management America, Inc. and the former Chief Investment Officer - Benefit Plans for Ford Motor Company, provided an engaging keynote speech that had the audience laughing, crying and reflecting. Ms. Gallagher discussed her career at Ford Motor Company, providing advice and perspective as she reflected on her values, her failures and the lessons she learned along the way.

 

Closing remarks were made by Susan Small, WIP Vice President and Head of Institutional Client Coverage, Americas for UBS Asset Management.

(CHICAGO, IL – September 20, 2017) Women Investment Professionals (WIP), a leading not-for-profit organization for professional women in the institutional investment management industry, today announced it will be awarding its prestigious “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional of the Year” award to Sabrina Bailey, Global Head of Retirement Solutions at Northern Trust Asset Management. The award will be presented at WIP’s Annual Trailblazer Dinner on October 26, 2017 at The University Club of Chicago.

The “Distinguished Woman Investment Professional” award seeks to recognize a leading figure for her contributions and achievements in the institutional asset management industry. Nominations for the award recipient are put forth by WIP members and ultimately selected by the WIP Board of Directors.

“We’re delighted to present this year’s Distinguished Woman Investment Professional award to Sabrina Bailey,” said Christina Cryer, President of WIP and Head of U.S. Consultant Relations for WisdomTree Asset Management. “Sabrina has deep institutional investment consulting experience, which she applies in serving some of the world’s largest retirement plans.”

As the Global Head of Retirement Solutions for Northern Trust Asset Management, the 10th largest defined contribution plan manager in the world, Sabrina has responsibility for the development and deployment of Northern Trust’s defined contribution strategy globally. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Sabrina served as the U.S. Defined Contribution Segment Leader for Mercer Investments where she helped build Mercer’s DC business. Previously, Sabrina held investment consulting and manager research positions with Towers Watson, RogersCasey and Arnerich Massena & Associates.

Sabrina received her BA in Business Economics and Management and MBA in Organizational Leadership from George Fox University. She is a member of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA), serving on the Editorial Review Board and Investment Policy Committee.

WIP’s annual Trailblazer Dinner focuses on celebrating women who inspire others to achieve personal and professional excellence. The featured keynote at this year’s dinner will be Kathleen Gallagher, the former Benefit Plans Chief Investment Officer of Ford Motor Company. (CHICAGO, IL – June 28, 2017) Women Investment Professionals (WIP), a leading not-for-profit organization for professional women in the institutional investment management industry, today welcomed Christina Cryer as its new president and Susan Small as its new vice president. Both Christina and Susan will assume their new roles this month as former president Bonnie Stanfield completes her two-year term.

Christina Cryer, Head of U.S. Consultant Relations for WisdomTree Asset Management, previously served as WIP’s Vice President. Christina has over 16 years of investment industry experience, with extensive experience working with institutional investment consultants.

Susan Small, Head of Institutional Client Coverage, Americas at UBS Asset Management, was Vice President Elect and previously served as the organization’s Sponsorship Committee Chair. With over 25 years of experience in the institutional asset management industry, Susan has held senior sales and marketing roles with several leading asset managers including UBS, Deutsche Asset Management and Mackenzie Institutional.

Said Bonnie Stanfield, outgoing WIP president and Director of Consultant Relations at Putnam Investments, “I’ve worked closely with Christina and Susan over the last two years and I’m thrilled to see them stepping forward to lead this great organization, which now represents 325 women in the institutional asset management industry.”
